Dave Morris band portraits.

As a mountain biking photographer, I found this shoot quite challenging. Whistler local Dave Morris and his band asked me if I could shoot a few promotional photos for them. It was very different what I usually shoot, but I enjoyed the challenge. In the dark, blizzard weather, -18C we decided to find a place we would not be fully exposed to the crazy weather outside. We ended up shooting at the covered parking lot in Creekside. Still fighting with the cold temperatures we ended up with a few keepers.

As a Whistler lifestyle photographer I am always looking for something to shoot outside. I went for a little drive to shoot sunset but I wasn’t able to find anything worthy. I was in the car thinking about the other options when this couple just started to skate around on the lake. As a huge hockey fan – this photo means paradise to me. The winter in Whistler is a bit different than a typical Canadian winter. We only get a small window of time when we get to play hockey on the lake and those are the moments I enjoy the most.

Mountain biking in Pemberton.

Such a fun day! Chris Draper, George Amos and I are crazy enough to drive to Pemberton, lock the keys in the truck in the middle of nowhere, hike the bikes in the deep snow, freeze and still call it a fun day! And we’ve got some killer results too!

Winter portrait shoot at Rainbow Park, Whistler

Rainbow park in Whistler is one of the busiest parks in the summer. As a Whistler wedding and portrait photographer, I think this is one of my favourite spots to photograph the families or wedding couples. It offers amazing views of Alta Lake and Whistler Blackcomb mountains, which are awesome backdrops for most family portraits. I have to admit I visit the park more often in the fall and the winter, because I love the beauty of this park, the scenery and usually there is nobody around. You can walk on frozen lake and enjoy the openness and the space in otherwise narrow valley. Gabi (amazing portrait photographer herself) with her dog Sugar asked me to take a few photos of them for the Christmas cards. The day before the shoot we’ve got a huge snow storm in the valley and when I woke up on the day of our shoot, I couldn’t have been happier! Everything was white! Exactly how we planned it.

A few weeks ago I had an opportunity to photograph a few families from Squamish. As a location I chose Alice Lake Provincial Park, family friendly environment, which is located just north of downtown Squamish. The weather was great, mostly cloudy with some sunny breaks, which is perfect for family or kids photography.
